Overview

Share the adventure of a jungle safari in lush surroundings showcasing the grandeur of Africa. With many rooms overlooking the beautiful savannahs, grazing zebra, giraffes and gazelles can be seen roaming free in natural environments. The rhythm of tribal drums...the exquisite cuisine...the rich settings...and the lure of authentic African treasures all come together to celebrate the beauty and wonder of this vast and untamed continent. Three animal savannas are home to more than 200 mammals and birds representative of the African animal palette. Some examples are giraffe, zebra, Thomson's gazelle, ostrich, flamingo, African spoonbill, and sacred ibis.

Renovations/Important Information:
Disney's Animal Kingdom Lodge is currently under construction both internally and externally. Work will be done 7 days a week during daytime working hours.

The internal work will be done from April 2007 through late December 2007. The work will entail a complete remodelling of the guest rooms located on the 5 and 6th floors into vacation villas. These floors are completely closed and inaccessible to guests. The construction work will involve jack hammers and other work machinery. To minimize guest disturbance, the hotel will close rooms located directly below where heavy work is taking place. The internal work is not visible to guests but there will be some noise heard from the lobby, 2nd, 3rd and 4th floors. The hotel will do their best to place guests in areas away from the work area, however this cannot be guaranteed based on occupancy levels.

The external work will be done from April 2007 - late June 2009. The work will involve constructing a new building which will be located next to the main building. This new building will house additional vacation villas. The new constuction, workers and machinery will be visible to guests. Some of the Savannah View rooms will also have views of the new construction taking place behind the Savannah area.

The work will not effect clients spending time by the pool or restaurants. These areas are far enough from the work taking place that noise doesn't seem to be an issue. All hotel facilities remain fully open for guests to enjoy.

Important Information:

As of June 1, 2007, all Disney owned and operated resort hotels at the Walt Disney World Resort will become smoke free environments. This applies to all guestrooms, patios and balconies. Smoking is currently prohibited in all lobbies, common areas, restaurants and convention spaces. Smoking will be permitted in designated outdoor smoking locations only.

Effective immediately, guests will no longer be able to request a smoking room for arrivals after May 1, 2007. The resorts will be in a transitional phase to update guest rooms for the smoke free policy.

Cancellations made inside of 5 days prior to arrival incur a 1 night hotel penalty and applicable product penalties.

Walt Disney World reservations must be booked with the correct guest names. A complete name change to the lead name is considered a cancellation and will require a new reservation.

Guests attending a convention at the hotel may not use this package for their stay. If found attending a convention, guests may be charged directly by the hotel.
