These amazing and amusing insects and arachnids invite the audience to be honorary bugs. Through 3D "Bug-Eye" glasses, get a fascinating and hilarious look into the animal kingdom that just might change your perspective enough to think: "It's Tough to be a Bug! Insects should be our friends."
![]() The Tree of LifePaths known as Discovery Island Trails weave around and through this homage to nature. Stroll the trails to see a swirling tapestry of 325 animals carved into the bark of this massive attraction. Look for creatures like Galapagos tortoises, lemurs and cotton-top tarmarins. A theater is housed in the Tree of Life root system where the It's Tough to be a Bug! show is performed. This 8-minute, 3D movie and multimedia show features Flik, everybody's favorite ant, and his grasshopper friend, Hopper, from the Disney·Pixar film A Bug's Life—along with a supporting cast of insects and arachnids who provide a surprising look into the animal kingdom.
![]() Discovery Island TrailsTake a relaxing stroll down beautiful pathways and trails, over wooden foot bridges and through cave-like tunnels, and stop at the viewing areas to observe and photograph a rich variety of exotic animals. Galapagos tortoises, lemurs, kangaroos, capybaras, cockatoos and cotton-top tamarin monkeys are just some of the fascinating creatures you may encounter along Discovery Island Trails. There is also a glass-paneled observation area where you can watch river otters frolic above and underneath the water.
